Legacy's History
East Elementary began operations in 1955. It is the oldest operating school within the Washington County School District. In the Spring of 2017, East became Legacy Elementary, located next to the Dixie Sun Bowl. The new school site has replaced the former Elks baseball field. Legacy is a two-story building, a first for an elementary school in our district. The building offers a full-length wood floor gym that is shared with the city. There is a spacious playground. The kitchen, pictured in a 1957 snapshot and on this page's borders, was used until East closed its elementary doors.
