Sometimes worrying can be a motivator. Managing worry is rarely easy. Boldly predicting six gold medals in the 1968 Olympics but only winning two [still a high achievement for nearly anyone], U.S. swimmer Mark Spitz, finished last in a race that he was expected to win. Perhaps it was managed worrying about this failure which produced far different results in the 1972 Olympics where he won SEVEN gold medals (click on links above pictures to see the videos).
